When asked about the number of perfumes they own, 37% said “one bottle,” 46% said “two to three bottles,” 10% said “four to five bottles,” and 7% said “six or more bottles,” with those who own two to three bottles coming out on top.

Many of those who own only one bottle commented that “it is troublesome to use different bottles” and “I can't use up all of them, and the fragrance deteriorates.

Those who own more than one bottle of perfume often stated that they use different bottles for different occasions and moods, that they simply like the fragrance, and that they sometimes receive them from others.

We found that many people use different perfumes for different occasions, moods, and people with whom they go out.
